Tallgrass Film Festival has been named one of MovieMaker’s 25 Coolest Film Festivals of 2023. The annual list recognizes festivals that go out of their way to be innovative, welcoming, and simply, cool.
“We are so honored to be on the list with some great festivals! After 21 years of hard work and commitment to our independent filmmakers and our local audiences, it is nice to have recognition of just how cool it is to be at Tallgrass,” Melanie Addington Executive Director said. “There’s a reason why our number of submissions keeps increasing. The hard work of the team really shows what it means to care about both your local and global community.”
“There are an incredible amount of amazing film festivals in the world so to even be considered for this is a big honor in and of itself,” Program Director Andre Seward said. “I am proud to work with a team of dedicated staff and volunteers who make the festival one of a kind for those who attend. Knowing that our commitment to showcasing independent cinema as best as we can is felt and appreciated by others makes it all worthwhile.”
Tallgrass has announced a 25% discount on all pass types to celebrate the occasion until the end of July. Use the discount code for Coolest: C00L!2023 when checking out at https://tff23.eventive.org/passes/buy.
“One of the most forward-thinking festivals in the country, and most thoughtful in terms of curation and filmmaker experience, Tallgrass has a stellar reputation on the festival circuit and tons of fans among both filmmakers and organizers of other festivals,” says MovieMaker editor-in-chief Tim Molloy. “Tallgrass is one of just a handful of entries on our list of the 25 Coolest Film Festivals that was also on our 2023 list of 50 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee — that means it holds the distinction of being not just a great value and a potential career booster, but also promising a really good time. It epitomizes cool.”
