Join the Tallgrass Film Association for our second annual Take 36 film race, presented by Emprise Bank!
The competition is open to professionals, film enthusiasts, first-time filmmakers, and students of all ages who are up for the ultimate creative challenge. Anyone with an interest in filmmaking at any level is welcome to compete.
This weekend-long event tasks teams with creating an original short film in 36 hours, while incorporating random elements to create wholly original content. Teams must write, shoot and edit a short film (up to 6 minutes) within the span of 36 hours.
Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, this year will function a bit differently. To ensure the safety of our participants, staff, and everyone involved, Tallgrass has put in place social distancing and health and safety guidelines for each team to strictly adhere to. All meetings will be held digitally and each team will be given industry standards of safe practices for filming and production.
We understand this year has been tough for many households so registration for 2020 teams has been slashed to $100 with a discounted rate of $75 for student teams. Any team with more than 50% of its participants under the age of 21 is eligible for the discounted rates. The weekend will finish off with a live stream virtual showcase of the top films, streamed on Sunday night on the Tallgrass Virtual Festival App.
The top 10 selections along with a few honorable mentions will be screened. Followed by a critique of the films by industry professionals and a live-streamed virtual awards show.
