Who We Are

The 23rd Annual Tallgrass Film Festival will be held in and around downtown Wichita, Kansas, October 16-19 2025. The festival showcases over 100+ films from around the world and is the largest independent film festival in the state of Kansas. The multi-day event has become a hallmark of the city’s cultural landscape and the festival is internationally known for its world-class cinematic programming and filmmaker hospitality.

Tallgrass Film Festival strives to serve as a venue and voice for independent films and filmmakers, spotlighting movies that otherwise might go unnoticed and not have a proper theatrical screening in the city or region. Filmmakers from around the country (and sometimes, the world) come to Wichita to present their films and participate in post-film Q&As, filmmaker roundtables, panel discussions, etc. TFF also hosts legendary parties most evenings during the festival.

Why We Do Community Partnerships

In 2005, the Tallgrass Film Festival, a program of the Tallgrass Film Association, a not-for-profit 501(c )3, began its Community Partnership program to connect with other Kansas-based nonprofits to form mutually beneficial relationships between our groups. It is our goal to foster community appreciation of independent film while promoting the objectives of other organizations whose purposes and work are reflected in the films we screen.

How It Works

Once the films are selected, we seek to match them, especially the documentaries, with a non-profit organization based on a common subject, mission, or another connection, in hopes that they will be a Community Partner for that film.

What You Get

As a Community Partner, you will have the opportunity to promote your organization in these ways: The organization’s name will be listed in our paper program (if confirmed by 9.16.25), on our website film guide (on the page profiling your film, as well as on a separate CP list).

Your printed promotional materials may also be made available for festival-goers through our Festival Information Tables or by handing these out directly to audience members at your film’s screening. In some cases, if space allows, you may be able to set up your own table during your screening (reservation only).

Your designated spokesperson will be given the opportunity (if they choose) to briefly address the audience during the introduction of your film’s screening(s). Partners also receive six tickets to a screening of their partnered film during the festival. (If the film is screened twice, this number can be divided into any number for each screening) and a discount code to encourage others to atten

What We Get

As a Community Partner, you are expected to promote the Tallgrass Film Festival and the specific film(s) within your organization, its membership, and to your constituents in any or all of these ways: Newsletter, e-blasts, website, social media networks (Facebook, X, and Instagram), by providing TFF publicity materials and/or have a Tallgrass staff member speak at any events you have coming up before the Festival (postcards, posters of your specific film are sometimes available), and any other resources you might be able to use.
