The 23rd Annual Tallgrass Film Festival Announces Full Film Selection

=================

Wichita, Kan. (September 12th, 2025) — The Tallgrass Film Festival (Tallgrass) announces the selection for its 23rd edition. This year’s festival will feature 14 World Premieres, 1 International Premiere, 10 North American Premieres, 7 USA Premieres, 60 Regional Premieres, and 87 Kansas Premieres. The full selection includes 38 features, 150 short films and the addition of a Music Video category. Highlighted in this release are films in the feature film competitions. Feature Films that are playing out of competition, Gala Films, and short films paired with those films were announced in this release dated September 5th, 2025.

Over the 4 day festival, Tallgrass will present 111 Film programs across 3 venues. The main venue for the festival this year is Boulevard Theatres at Old Town. Friday and Saturday evening will have films screened at the Mary Jane Teall Theatre at Century II, additional screenings will also take place at the Emily Bonavia Tallgrass Film Center. Tickets for all in-person screenings are available for purchase online at tff25.eventive.org

Following the in-person festival a selection of festival films will be screened virtually from October 20th-October 27th. Full Virtual Announcement on Friday, September 19th.

Tickets for virtual screenings will be available via the same link starting on Friday, September 19th as well.

The festival will also produce a series of panels on a variety of topics relevant to today’s filmmakers, from a dialogue between last year’s winners to a conversation on film festival strategy, a discussion of documentary filmmaking today, and more.

We are so proud to announce the full selection of this year’s Tallgrass Film Festival. With over 180 total films this is one of the festivals with the most to offer to our audience. This year we welcome the Music Video category as well, which hopefully will give our audience a new experience and potentially attract new viewership too. A point of pride for this edition is the fact that close to half of the features are directed by women. Another highlight is how “fresh” the program is, with the majority of the films having been completed in 2025. The Tallgrass viewers can be happy to know that their eyes will be some of the very first to see this amazing line up of the best in Stubbornly Independent cinema.

– Andre Seward, Programming Director

“This year’s lineup of films reflect a diverse range of voices, stories and experiences that we can’t wait to share with the greater Wichita community and beyond.” – Sierra Franklin-Morton, Interim Executive Director
