Tallgrass Road & Satellite Shows
In partnership with the Kansas Historic Theatre Association, TFA presents the Tallgrass Film Festival Road Show and the Tallgrass Film Festival Sattelite Show. The Road Show takes place throughout the year, and the Satellite Show prior to the film festival, at KHTA member theaters, many of which were built as grand movie palaces in their day.
Both series are designed to provide a look at the current landscape of independent film to citizens across Kansas, as well as a taste of Tallgrass Film Festivals past and present. Each screening serves as a fundraiser for the presenting historical theater's restoration efforts.
Over the last five years, participating theaters have included the C.L Hoover Opera House in Junction City, Colonial Fox Theater in Pittsburg, Historic Fox Theater in Hutchinson, McPherson Opera House, Blair Theater in Belleville, Stiefel Theater in Salina, Jayhawk Theater in Topeka, Midland Alamo Theater in Coffeyville, Brown Grand Theater in Concordia, Augusta Historic Theatre and the Paola Community Center.
